A brand-new mobile venture will be thrilling foodies at outdoor events across Lancashire this autumn, as a four-times Great Taste Awards winner branches out into the world of wood fired pizza with an oven from Valoriani UK.
Robert Silverwood, whose culinary successes have included developing flavoured rum and vodka and creating a chocolate-making course, has launched new start-up business, Silverwood Fire Pizza, and needed a reliable and stunning mobile pizza oven to match his vision.
The oven had to fit into a delivery van concept, created to an industrial-look thematic with lots of on-trend wood and copper features. It also had to be capable of achieving a good bake that would maintain the Silverwood reputation for creating first-class food and drink products. It had to, quite simply, be the Aga of the pizza oven world, cooking pizza consistently, paddle-load after paddle-load. No pressure then!
Luckily, the Silverwoods came across Valoriani by chance. They had met someone from Preston who already had a wood fired oven and discovered that Valoriani has a Preston-based culinary centre and showroom. They visited and instantly saw that Valoriani UK is an experienced and trustworthy company, with great-looking pizza ovens.
As Robert Silverwood explains, “It felt like the right fit and we didn’t look anywhere else.”
The next steps will see Robert learning the art of pizza making and cooking with Valoriani UK’s Andrew Manciocchi. A key element of that will be optimising the superb heat-retaining properties of the Valoriani Fornino 75 pizza oven that has been purchased for the mobile catering project. This is important for a mobile business and Robert Silverwood wants 100% out of his wood fired oven.
From there, the superb-looking van concept will be launched and head to events already booked in the diary, including a Christmas lights switch-on in Churchtown, Southport and an event at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood.
Exciting food development is also on the cards, as Silverwood Fire Pizza aims to create beautiful food that it has dubbed ‘slow fast food’. This will be oven-cooked food, that has the taste of slow food, thanks to the tastes and textures created by the Valoriani oven, but the speed of fast food. It will be burgers and chips “made beautiful” in Robert Silvewood’s words.
The business will meet the deadline for its October schedule, and thrilling foodies across Lancashire, in part because of the service provided by Valoriani UK, which has met the expectations of the food entrepreneur.
As Robert Silverwood says: “I have to say that the customer service and support has been excellent.”
